December 7 is the anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese empire in 1941. The following day the United States declared war on Germany, Italy and Japan, thus entering WWII.
National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day Americans honors the more than 2,400 Americans killed on that day.
